It is the person behind the camera rather than the machine itself creating an image. First discovered by photographers in the 60's as a toy carnival prize, the Diana camera seemed to offer an alternative to conventional picture-making, with expensive photo gear considered essential for making quality work.  The resulting images have a mysterious allure, with soft focus, light-struck film and ragged glitches that appear in finished prints; these from the rough edges of the inner film plane.
